Many weeds are structurally close to the target crop. To get rid of them is an especially difficult task. In such cases, special class of chemicals called Selective weedicides are recommended.
Wheat can be impacted by various weeds namely: Phalaris minor, Medicago spp. Melilotus spp., Chenopodium album, Cronopus didymus, Vicia sativa, Rumex spp, Dinebra retroflexa. Phalaris minor also known as ‘Gully Danda’ is one of the most notorious weed in wheat. It looks exactly like wheat plant but upon full growth does not offer any seeds causing heavy losses.
Jodi No. 01 is highly selective, post emergence herbicide used in control of Phalaris minor & other grassy and broad leaved weeds in cereal crops mainly wheat. It's high selectivity for wheat makes it highly recommended for use. Its dual action is highly effective & fast acting making it ideal for usage.
Pack sizes: 30gm.
Jodi No. 01 contains two active ingredients namely Clodinafop and Metribuzin. The herbical combination acts by inhibition of Acetyl COA Carboxylase (ACC) enzyme of the weed and by inhibition of Photosynthetic chetron transport. The most important function of ACC is to pro- vide the malonyl-CoA substrate for the biosynthesis of fatty acids (when the enzyme is active, the product, malonyl-CoA, is produced which is a building block for new fatty acids). Photosynthesis inhibitor stops the conversion of sunlight into chemical energy. Hence, Jodi No. 01 with its dual action helps farmer to get rid of weeds quickly.
Dosage: 240 gm per acre with 120ltr of water.
Time of Application:
When weeds are in 3-4 leaf stage or 35 days after sowing.
- It should be manufactured indigenously.
- First fill 1/3 or 1⁄2 of knapsack sprayer tank with clean water and put the water soluble pouch of herbicide.
- Gently stir the soluble until the whole pouch and its contents fully dissolve in water.
- Now, add rest of the water to sprayer tank to make up the volume for spraying.
- Plant Protection Equipment: Knapsack or foot operated sprayers fitted with flat fan or flood jet type of nozzle.
- Limitation for use: It should not be used in crops where it has not been recommended. It should never be used in combination with any insecticides, urea or plant growth regulator.
- It can be applied when weeds are at 3-4 leaf stage or 35 days after sowing.
- Keep away the herbicidal from foodstuffs, empty foodstuff containers and animals feed. - Avoid contact with mouth, eyes and skin. Do not mix with bare hands.
- Avoid inhalation the spray mist. Spray in the direction of wind.
- Wash thoroughly the contaminated clothes and parts of the body after spraying.
- Do not smoke, drink, eat and chew anything while spraying.
- Wear full protective clothing e.g. hand gloves, goggles and face mask while mixing and spraying.
- No specific antidote is known. Treat symptomatically.
- Always refer to the SDS for detailed information on safety.
