Weed control is a highly developed field of knowledge. Weed control methods vary ac- cording to the growth habit of the weeds in question and context.
Weeds refer to development of any undesired plant in a field dedicated to a particular desired crop. In order to clear a field in preparation of new crop non selective herbicides are general- ly preferred.
Gunner is a well known non-selective post-emergence herbicide. It is used for killing both annual and perennial weeds. It has been used effectively against difficult to control weeds especially. It formula clears-off the weed from foliage to the roots.
Pack sizes: 250ml, 500ml, 1ltr & 5ltr.
Non-selective, systemic herbicide of Organophosphorus (Glycine and phosphonales) group. Once sprayed on the foliage of the weed, it is transmitted throughout the plant via transloca- tion action reaching the roots & rhizomes of the plant.
Upon reaching all areas, it inhibits formulation of ESPS hence inhibition production of amino acids required for protein synthesis within the plant. Lack of protein synthesis results in the death of the weed/plant. This process generally takes 7 to 12 days from start to finish.
Since it does not affect the germination of ensuing crops and any crop can be grown after its application, it is hence greatly used in non-crop area to eliminate unwanted plants.
In non crop area: when weeds are at least 4 to 8 leaf stage.
Dosage: 0.8-1.2 ltr per acre.
It is also recommended in tea crops to remove both narrow and broad leaf weeds.
